Main features

  • Chemical-Resistant Surface Protection
  • Three-Month Outdoor Clean Removal
  • Quick-Stick Hand-Tearable Handling

Product Description

Scotch Solvent Resistant Masking Tape 226 is a black masking tape with polyethylene film laminated to saturated crepe paper for protection during solvent- and water-based processing. The reinforced backing controls stretch, tears by hand, and resists many solvents, water solutions, emulsions, and selected paint-stripping chemistries. A high-tack natural-rubber adhesive provides quick stick and holding power across metal, plastic, and painted surfaces. The tape removes cleanly from most opaque surfaces for up to three months of outdoor exposure and supports removable use at 107 deg C. Applications include aerospace masking, surface protection, sealing, and hot-air leveling of printed circuit boards.

Key features

  • Chemical-resistant backing: The polyethylene and saturated-crepe construction resists many solvent- and water-based process solutions.
  • Controlled handling: The reinforced backing controls stretch, tears by hand, and supports quick placement.
  • Extended clean removal: The tape removes cleanly from most opaque surfaces for up to three months of outdoor exposure.

Applications

Applications include chemical-resistant masking, sealing and protection of metal, plastic, and painted surfaces, aerospace processing, and hot-air leveling of printed circuit boards.
