Product Description
3M Polishing Film 298X is a pressure-sensitive adhesive-backed, micron-graded aluminum oxide polishing film for water-assisted finishing of MT-style multi-fiber optic connectors and wafer edges. The mineral is coated on a fibrous polyester film backing and is available in nominal 0.5 um pink and 1.0 um light-green grades. During use with water, the film breaks down into a slurry, supporting controlled fiber protrusion and reduced slurry contamination on fixtures and equipment. Its precision construction is intended to improve process throughput and reduce rejects in supported polishing operations where consistent abrasive grade and controlled surface finishing are required.
