- Fast Hand-Tearable Process Handling
- Defined -40 to 65 deg C Service
Product Description
3M Double Coated Paper Tape 401M is a natural, 9 mil (0.228 mm) double-coated paper tape with rubber-resin pressure-sensitive adhesive for temporary attachment, splicing, and project stabilization. Its soft adhesive develops high initial adhesion and good holding power on a wide range of materials, while the paper carrier adds handling strength and permits hand tearing. The liner improves dimensional stability for die-cutting and automated dispensing and helps control edge roll during processing. After proper room-temperature application, the tape performs from -40 to 150 deg F (-40 to 65 deg C) in long-term service. Applications include splicing paper, foil, film, and fabric, mounting printing plates, attaching golf grips, and temporary part holding.
Key features
- High-Initial Rubber Adhesion: The soft rubber-resin adhesive provides quick grab and good holding power.
- Hand-Tearable Paper Carrier: The paper construction adds handling strength and tears by hand during application.
- Stable Die-Cutting Liner: The densified kraft liner adds dimensional stability and helps reduce edge roll.
Applications
Suitable for splicing and core starting of paper, foil, film, and fabric; printing-plate mounting; golf-grip attachment; and temporary part holding.
