3M 470L
Harmonization Code : 3907.30.00.40 | Epoxy Mold Compounds containing by weight more than 70 % silicon dioxide

Main features
- Linered Die-Cut Plating Masks
- Chemical-Resistant Process Protection
- Conformable Curved-Surface Masking
Product Description
3M Electroplating Tape 470L is the linered configuration of a tan vinyl electroplating tape, pairing a conformable backing with rubber pressure-sensitive adhesive for die-cut masks and chemical-process protection. Its 0.18 mm overall thickness, release liner, and flexible construction support conversion into shaped masks for curved or irregular parts. The tape resists most chemicals used in typical electroplating and anodizing operations and most common solvents. It also accepts marker ink and thermal-transfer printing for identification during electroplating, anodizing, milling, etching, peening, coated-rack protection, and labeling.
Key features
- Linered conversion format: The release liner supports die-cutting and handling of shaped electroplating masks.
- Chemical-process resistance: The tape resists most chemicals used in typical electroplating and anodizing operations.
- Conformable vinyl backing: Flexible construction follows curved and irregular surfaces during masking and protection.
Applications
Applications include die-cut electroplating and anodizing masks, coated-rack protection, milling, etching, peening, labeling, and sealing containers from water intrusion.
