Product Description
3M Impact Stripping Tape 528 is a tan, rubber-backed masking tape with acrylic adhesive and a paper liner for surface protection during abrasive blasting and paint stripping. The 2.1 mm tape is designed to withstand impact from common blasting media including aluminum oxide, steel shot, glass bead, and plastic. Its acrylic adhesive bonds to documented surfaces such as metal, glass, wood, and many plastics, while the construction supports clean, one-piece removal with minimal cleanup. The release liner also supports clean cutting and efficient die-cutting for shaped masks.
Key features
- Thick impact-resistant backing: The 2.1 mm rubber-backed construction protects masked surfaces against common abrasive blasting media.
- Clean one-piece removal: The acrylic adhesive and rubber backing support removal in one piece with minimal cleanup after processing.
- Die-cuttable linered format: A paper release liner supports clean cutting and efficient die-cutting for shaped protection masks.
Applications
It is used for sandblasting and abrasive-blasting masking, paint-stripping protection, and protecting glass, metal, and other documented surfaces during impact processing.
