3M 855
Harmonization Code : 3919.10.80 | Other self-adhesive plastic rolls not exceeding 20 cm wide.

Main features
- Clean-Removal High-Temperature Masking
- Non-Silicone Adhesive for Repainting
- High-Elongation Composite Bagging Tape
Product Description
3M High Temperature Nylon Film Tape 855 is a 3.6 mil nylon film tape with a non-silicone rubber pressure-sensitive adhesive for high-temperature masking, composite bagging, and metal bonding operations. The tough 2.0 mil nylon backing has 460% elongation for conformable masking and quick removal around process surfaces. Tape 534.375removes cleanly after several hours at 350 deg F (177 deg C) and supports shorter bake cycles up to 400 deg F (204 deg C). Its non-silicone adhesive avoids silicone residue that can interfere with subsequent painting or bonding, making the tape useful for autoclave hold-down, masking, and flash-removal steps.
Key features
- Non-silicone high-temperature adhesive: The rubber adhesive removes cleanly after high-temperature exposure without leaving silicone residue before later painting or bonding.
- High-elongation nylon backing: The 460% elongation nylon film conforms during masking and facilitates quick, efficient removal after processing.
- Short-cycle bake capability: The tape withstands several hours at 350 deg F and shorter bake cycles up to 400 deg F for composite and metal-bond processing.
Applications
Use 3M High Temperature Nylon Film Tape 855 to hold composite or metal bonding materials during autoclave processing, mask advanced composite and metal bonds, and assist flash removal after bonding.
