3M Polyurethane Protective Tape 8561 is a 14 mil transparent thermoplastic polyurethane tape with acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive and a polyethylene liner for indoor leading-edge erosion and abrasion protection. The polyurethane backing resists minor scratching, tearing, puncture, abrasion, and erosion while conforming over curved surfaces. Its long-aging, solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive adheres to a wide variety of substrates and retains a consistent level of adhesion over time while remaining removable when needed. The tape can be applied over painted surfaces or painted after installation, making it suitable for aircraft production and maintenance where a clear, conformable protective layer is required.
