Main features

  • Fast Five-Minute Metal Repair
  • Non-Sag Vertical Rebuilding
  • Machinable Steel-Filled Repairs

Product Description

Devcon Plastic Steel 5-Minute Putty (SF) is a two-component, steel-filled epoxy putty for filling, rebuilding, and bonding metal surfaces. Its putty consistency can be troweled up to 1/4 in (6.4 mm) thick on vertical surfaces without sagging, while a 5-minute pot life at 75 deg F supports rapid repair work. The material reaches functional cure in 1 hour and full cure in 16 hours at room temperature, after which it can be machined, drilled, or painted. Applications include restoring worn metal, patching castings, making jigs and fixtures, and rebuilding pump or valve bodies.

Key features

  • Five-minute working window: The mixed putty has a 5-minute pot life at 75 deg F for rapid repair work.
  • Non-sag vertical repairs: The material can be troweled up to 1/4 in (6.4 mm) thick on vertical surfaces.
  • Machinable steel-filled finish: After full cure, the repair can be machined, drilled, or painted.

Applications / Suitable for

  • Restoring worn or fatigued metal
  • Patching castings and rebuilding pump or valve bodies
  • Making jigs, fixtures, and bearing-journal repairs
