DOWSIL Q2-7406
Harmonization Code : 8001.20 | Unwrought tin: Tin alloys

Main features
- Silicone PSA Tape Coating
- High-Temperature Tape Adhesion
- Adjustable Tack-Cohesion Balance
Product Description
DOWSIL Q2-7406 Adhesive is a solvent-borne silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive for coating tape backings. The translucent xylene dispersion contains 55 to 58% active ingredients and has a typical viscosity of 20,000 to 80,000 cP at 25 deg C. It can be applied with conventional tape-coating equipment, diluted with compatible solvents, or blended with other silicone pressure-sensitive adhesives before coating. After solvent removal, heat cure develops the film's tack, adhesive strength, and cohesive strength. Applications include general-purpose adhesive use and the production of splicing and plating tapes for elevated-temperature service.
Key features
- Tape-coating processability: Can be applied to backing materials with conventional tape-coating equipment.
- High-temperature adhesion: Supports splicing and plating tape applications exposed to elevated processing temperatures.
- Adjustable cure balance: Catalyst concentration and heat cure can be used to balance tack, adhesive strength, and cohesive strength.
Applications / Suitable for
- General-purpose pressure-sensitive adhesive coating
- Splicing tapes
- Plating tapes
