- Hot-Water-Assisted Peel Removal
- Visible Red Mask Placement
Product Description
Dymax SpeedMask 717-R Maskant is a red UV- and visible-light-curable gel maskant for plating, anodizing, aggressive grit blasting, shot peening, machining, and air plasma spray. The product provides high adhesion during process exposure and is removed with a hot-water-assisted peel sequence after use. Its supported application scope also includes protection of orthopedic implants where the exact process and biological-evaluation boundaries are maintained. The gel form supports controlled placement before cure, while the red appearance improves visual identification of masked areas. SpeedMask 717-R is a temporary process-protection material and is not intended to remain as a permanent coating.
Key features
- Red visual identification: The red gel makes the applied mask area easy to distinguish before and after cure.
- High-adhesion process hold: The cured mask is intended to remain attached through plating and aggressive mechanical processing.
- Hot-water-assisted release: The documented removal sequence combines hot water with peel removal after processing.
Applications / Suitable for
- Plating and anodizing
- Aggressive grit blasting, shot peening, and machining
- Air plasma spray and orthopedic implant protection
