- Multi-Grade Class B Work Life
- Fuel-Resistant Elastomeric Seal
Product Description
PPG PR-1776M Class B Polysulfide Sealant is a low-density, two-part manganese-dioxide-cured polysulfide sealant for integral fuel-tank fillets and aircraft fuselage sealing. The low-sag thixotropic paste is applied by extrusion gun or spatula and cures at room temperature. Class B-1/2, B-2, B-4, and B-6 variants provide application lives from 0.5 to 6 hours at 25 deg C and 50% RH. The cured sealant has a typical specific gravity of 1.29, Shore A hardness of 50, and 366% elongation after the standard cure. It remains elastomeric after prolonged exposure to aircraft fuels and limited contact with phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids.
Key features
- Low-density fuel-tank seal: A cured specific gravity of 1.29 suits weight-sensitive fuel-tank and fuselage sealing.
- Multiple Class B work lives: B-1/2, B-2, B-4, and B-6 grades provide 0.5- to 6-hour application lives.
- Fuel-exposed elastomeric performance: The cured sealant remains elastomeric after prolonged aircraft-fuel exposure.
Applications / Suitable for
- Fillet sealing of integral aircraft fuel tanks.
- Aircraft fuselage sealing.
